CONTEST REGULATIONS
I. Organizers:
1. The competition's organizers are: the Polish Naval Academy, OBR Centrum Techniki Morskiej S.A. and the MTG SA Gdańsk International Fair, acting in accordance with the agreement from 3 Nov 2011 regarding the co-organization of the Conference NATCON (the organizers).
2. The organizers may work in collaboration with other subjects that intend to contribute to the preparation or implementation of the event.
II. Purpose of the competition:
We aim to identify and award three innovative papers presented during the IX International Conference NATCON " Marine Technologies for Defence and Security " (the NATCONConference) .
III. Entry requirements:
1. To enter you must be a conference speaker registered via the application form available on the website
www.natconference.eu
.
2. The topics of all papers submitted for the competition must be related to the theme of the NATCON Conference, in accordance with the program available at
www.natconference.eu
in the "Topics" tab.
IV. Rules of participation:
1. Participation in the competition is voluntary. The closing date for entries is
10 April 2021
.
2. The paper must be registered for presentation during the Conference NATCON. The paper is not required to be printed in the conference monograph.
3. Submissions should be made by email:

4. The paper may be withdrawn at any time during the competition. A request to withdraw the paper should be emailed to:

V. Jury and the assessment methods:
1. The jury panel is comprised of representatives of the Organizers and Co-organizers of the Conference NATCON, representing academic units. The panel is chaired by the Chairman of the Board - General Director performing duties Marcin Wiśniewski.
2. All submitted papers will be assessed.
Papers will be evaluated by the jury panel at the meeting held during the Conference NATCON . The jury give a mark from 1 to 5, where 1 is the worst and 5 is the best grade, due to following criteria:
matching paper subject to the NATCON Conference thematic scope;
orginality of the paper relative to relevant publication in the subject;
novelty of presented solutions;
innovative approach to the issue;
level of text exhaustion;
transparency and legibility of the text
3. Only the papers' content will be known to the jurors. The names of the authors, co-authors and the names of their representing institutions will not be disclosed to the jury panel. This aims to ensure that the selection process is objective and unbiased.
4. In case of gaining the same number of points by more than one paper, Jury will select laureantes during closed meeting held at the NATCON Conference.
5. Decisions of the jury are final and indisputable.
VI. Prizes:
1. The three winners will be awarded honourable distinctions in the form of
Crystal Lighthouse
.
2. The results of the competition and awards ceremony will be held during the Conference NATCON.
3. Awards will be presented by the Chairman of the Jury.
VII. Cancellation of competition:
The organizers reserve the right to cancel the competition if no papers are submitted for entry.
VIII. Other notes:
1. Joining the competition constitutes the acceptance of these Rules.
2. The organizers are not responsible for the cancellation of the competition or changes in its schedule due to reasons beyond their control .
3. The organizers reserve the right to change the general rules , provided that such change does not violate the rights acquired by the contestants. Any changes will be published on the official website:
